Dessert in New York City: Patisserie Tomoko

Who loves a dessert? Here on the blog, I’ve written two posts suggesting spots for desserts in the city – you can check out part 1 here and part 2 here. And you can add another place to the list: Patisserie Tomoko. This super nice place is in Williamsburg, Brooklyn – close to the house of my friend Juliana Malta, in fact, the suggestion was hers. It is a unique combination of French and European influences with a touch of Japanese-inspired tastes and flavors.

The place is cute, entitled to the French soundtrack and everyone sits at the counter, where you can spy on the staff setting up the desserts. The options include some sweets from the shop, for take out and also the tasting menu. The course consists of an amuse, dessert of your choice and petits fours. They offer a select list of wines, coffee and teas. The menu provides suggestions for the best pairings for your desserts. Dessert Prix Fixe (Change Daily): Standerd $12 for two course and Premium $16 for three course.

We did like this: we chose the Premium option and also chose some options from the take out menu – Salty Caramel Nuts Tart, a tart with salted caramel and nuts, which cost $7.50 and also a bun. That tart was delicious! For our tasting menu, we chose for the chocolate souffle with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The first course was a green tea mousse, super refreshing and at the end, a little plate with some cookies, like macarons and others.

I loved the Patisserie and it is an option for anyone who is touring in Williamsburg. Here’s an itinerary to explore the area.

Address: 568 Union Ave B.
