Things to do in New York at night

Yes, there are a lot of nightlife options in New York City and today I decided to list some suggestions. After all, the night at the Big Apple is not just about walking through Times Square – there is so much to be explored in the city. So if you want to enjoy days and nights during your trip, check out some ideas on how to get the best out of New York’s night.

Restaurants – it’s a basic thing to do – and even mandatory – after all, no matter if it’s going to be in your hotel room or somewhere else, everyone needs to eat something, right? So, you can planning something special or you can decide at last minute. I’m the kind of person who values a lot of dinner and remember that it is all about planning and researching and you will discover cool restaurants without spending a lot. I suggest exploring the eating menu here on the blog and also using apps like Foursquare. In addition, dinner may be a good time for you to choose a restaurant in an area that is not in your itinerary or that you do not know yet or you haven’t explored yet. During the day, we tend to be so excited about the trip that we do not stop for lunch – so there’s another reason to value dinner. I will highlight two Italian restaurants that I love: Lupa and Pisticci.

Rooftops – one of the coolest things to do here in New York is to go to the rooftops. These places are bars that end up having the privileged view as a highlight. There are countless rooftops in the city and the cool thing is that you don’t pay anything to get in – but of course it’s common sense that you buy something. My favorite is Westlight – it has one of the most privileged views. But you can click here and check all my posts about rooftops. Please remember that you must be 21 years old and present an ID.

Bars – from the most sophisticated cocktail bars to the crowded pubs, New York is full of cool bar options! Visiting a bar in the city can be a great way to meet new people, make new friends and see New Yorkers’ nightlife up close. Just as there are hundreds of restaurants, there are also hundreds of bars. Check out the nightlife menu where I suggest some options. I also suggest downloading the Happy Hour Finder app – it shows bars close to you with deals at happy hour hours.

Dance clubs – for those who are in the mood to dance, there are plenty of dance clubs! Here in the blog, there is a dance club guide with several places and tips, as well as a guide to LGBT bars and dance clubs.

Jazz – If you are looking for a classic thing to do in New York, write down: jazz! Jazz is a tradition not only in New York, but in the United States and I think it’s the kind of thing that ends up adding something different to your itinerary – especially if you like music! There are several places to listen to jazz in the city, for all tastes. Check out!

Broadway – Another classic thing to do in New York is to see a Broadway musical or play! It is part of the soul of the city – if Los Angeles has Hollywood, New York has Broadway. Here on the blog, you find several tips on tickets and other details.

Concerts – New York is always the stage for the big names of music. Certainly, a trip here is a chance to check one of these concerts up close – have you ever thought about going to a Beyoncé concert? Or Mariah Carey? It is always worth checking the schedule of shows in the city to know what is going on and, who knows, to take this unique opportunity.

Sports – the nights in New York can also be an excellent opportunity to take advantage of the city’s sports programming! Basketball, baseball, American football …

Night Walks – Walking the streets of New York at night is contemplating another city. Everything is magic! And as I always say: for you to see Manhattan you must leave Manhattan and when you do this when the sun is gone you can guarantee unforgettable memories.
