Nice (and cheap) restaurants in Upper East Side

As I mentioned on some occasions, I live in the Upper East Side in New York, and it is a neighborhood that I particularly love! Before you think about Gossip Girl, luxury and ostentation, forget it. I don’t have any of that. At least not at the part that I live, that it is far from Madison Avenue and Fifth Avenue – where the wealthy are. I like this area because it is not crowded with tourists and has several amenities: pharmacies, markets, shops, gym, parks and restaurants …! Ahhh, restaurants. Every weekend is sacred: we go out to lunch or dinner and, almost always, is in the neighborhood, which is super rich in gastronomic aspect. This one and a half year living in the city, I have visited several restaurants in the Upper East Side, so, I decided to do a list in the post today with those that deserve replay. So if by chance you take a walk around the neighborhood – you know, the day you go to the MET or just want to escape the traditional route, please have this little list:
That was one of the nicest dining experiences we had in New York: try the Tartes Flambées at La Tarte Flambée! It is a typical dish from the Alsace region, France, which basically consists in a thin crust topped with various ingredients and fowl. In the case of this restaurant, there are several options: bacon, mushroom and so on. It is very tasty, like a lighter pizza. It is a good idea to go in a group and pick up various flavors with a cold beer to accompany! I didn’t like the sweet flavors – I wanted more chocolate!.
Price: U$11.
Locations: 1750 2nd Ave. (and another one at 153 E 33rd St).

I love diverse kinds of foods, but I have some favorites. And the Mexican is undoubtedly one of them. I love it! Maz Mezcal is a restaurant that is always busy. In the summer, as with many restaurants in the city, it has tables on the street. The place is nice too because it has nachos and complimentary salsas as starters, for free. In the menu, the delights we know: tacos, burritos, enchiladas. The staff is very friendly and the Marguerita is a delight.
Price: U$19 a U$23.

Italian cuisine is also among my top 5! I can not resist a pasta! The Firenze Ristorante has a very nice and beautiful environment, with candlelight, perfect for romantics. When we went there, I ordered a risotto with shrimp and Thiago ordered lamb, a delight that I dream about it and want to go back there to ask  And, of course, the menu has pastas –  as fettucini and pappardelle.
