Burger in New York City: Kings of Kobe

New York is a full plate for those who like burgers. There are countless options: from gourmet to fast food, to countless vegan and vegetarian options. I would say that it is a very democratic city. While I love the burgers from Umami and BareBurger chains, I do not give up the opportunity to try a new option. In these discoveries, I disappoint myself a few times but it also surprises me. And so it was with the Kings of Kobe. One Sunday, we were walking around and when it was time for lunch we decided we wanted to eat a burger. After a little research, we ended up going to the Kings of Kobe.

This place specializes in burgers with American Wagyu “Kobe Style” Beef. The unique taste and tenderness of highly marbled Wagyu beef makes for an unrivalled eating experience. That is why Wagyu beef is finding its way into the repertoires of gourmet cooks and fine restaurants across the US. But do not expect anything fancy at Kings of Kobe. The place is small with a few tables, casual atmosphere. You place the order at the cashier and wait for it to be ready. The service is amazing – I really liked the girl who took our orders.

The Kings of Kobe’s menu features six burgers – including a vegan option: King’s Standard ($13.95), roasted tomato, white cheddar, pickles, cherry pepper aioli, Better than Caesar ($14,75), burrata, baby arugula, stone fruit relish, balsamic glaze, The Queen Rules ($14,50) prosciutto, pepper jack, bibb lettuce, sweet chili relish, jalapeno aioli, Louis Louis ($14.95),spinach, sunny side up free-range egg, bacon, roasted garlic aioli ($14.95),smoked gouda, caramelized onions, applewood smoked bacon, chipotle aioli, and Vegan Republic ($11,95),three bean and roasted vegetable, roasted tomato, baby arugula, vegan herb mayo.  However, our choice was different: the Kings of Kobe released a special edition of burger. #FoKnChiliBurger has chili, sour cream and bacon –  giant size. So big that it need fork and knife to eat (hence the name). And you can also share with someone! We love! It cost $ 23 but I do not know if it’s limited edition. We also tried the onion rings, which were delicious!

Another highlight on Kings of Kobe’s menu are the hot dogs. That’s it! There are seven varieties of hot dogs, with different sauces and topings – and prices ranging from $9 to $12.

Loved our experience! If you are looking for a good burger in NYC, you can put the Kings of Kobe on the list!
