5 new cosmetics stores to check out in New York City

Beauty market in New York is very dynamic! There are always stores opening and closing – and this one of the reasons why I launched NYC Beauty, an app that is a guide to beauty shops in the city. Today, I decided to list for you 5 new stores that have opened in the last months and that deserve attention.

Kryolan –  Kryolan is one of the most respectful brandsa and famous among makeup artists. DFormulas are highly pigmented and color-intense, also very long-lasting. Foundation palette is one of the favorites among makeup artists, because the variety of shades (12 and 24 colors), that can be mixed to match all the skin tones. And the Dermacolor line is one of the famous ones, because it is waterproof,  recommended by dermatologist and covers all, from skin anomalies to tattoos. Kryolan also offers an extensive selection of products for body makeup.

Nyx –  last year, Nyx decided to open stores in the country – starting in California. This year, NYC also got its Nyx stores – with locations in  Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan, opened recently. The location is it’s huge, huge! I never imagined it would be so great.I. The store is super bright, with beautiful benches to try the products and tablets for you to check out videos tutorials and tips. The store also has a space for you to customize your eyeshadows palettes – you choose the colors and design it as you wish. Nyx has many products – and it was possible to buy many of them in the city’s stores. But something was always missing. I, for one, never found the pigments in stores here in NYC. Now, in this store, you will find not only the pigments but also glitters, nail polsih, primers, new metallic liquid lipsticks, brushes, bags and other accessories.  Nyx is known by good products at affordable prices. And it does not change at the store. Most of the products do not cost more than $ 10.

Kiko – Kiko is an Italian brand super famous in Europe specialized in makeup, that is in the USA since 2013. They have stores in Miami, New Jersey and also in New York. But Manhattan just got a location some months ago, with Westfield World Trade Center Mall opening. There are a lot of products, with fabulous quality and affordable prices. The stores are beautiful, and you can try all the goods. Besides the fair prices, Kiko promotes sales from time to time, with discounts that can reach 50%. It is worth noting that there is also a skincare line, with products for cleansing, moisturizing, and special care. Another highlight is the distinct makeup collections, with beautiful themes, and fantastic packaging and shades. Unlimited Stylo Lipstick is my favortie, with a creamy formula, matte finish and long-lasting, in gorgeous shades. .

Charlotte Tilbury – with loyal customers like Kate Moss, Gisele Bündchen, Natalie Portman and Penelope Cruz,  Charlotte Tilbury is a very prestigious English makeup artist. Her brand, with her name, carries the same respect in the makeup world and the products are recognized because of the high quality. When she launched her makeup line, Charlotte’s goal was functionality, and she says she wants everyone who buys the line to “become their own fabulous makeup artist. You’re not the expert, the product is the expert and it does the work for you.” Each product has a how-to video that teaches you exactly how to use it.  There are more than 100 products – foundation, powder, lipsticks – and also a skincare line, that includes the famous Charlotte’s Magic Cream, a tried-and-true favorite for runways and the red carpet alike. The moisturizer firms and lifts tired complexions, smoothing over wrinkles and stopping wrinkles in their tracks. Another highlight is the Filmstar Bronze & Glow Face Sculpt & Highlight, a compact universal bronzer and sculpting powder

Too Cool for School – Too Cool for School is a super cool and modern Korean brand, that is already at Sephora locations, with some products. Dedicated to quality and creativity, the brand brings together the latest beauty trends with a diversity community of experimental artists. The result is innovative products with beautiful packaging. From the formulas to the design, everything gets your attention at Too Cool for School. The main categories are makeup and skincare. Dinoplatz collection offers a lot of products such as blush, powder and concealer, with packaging designed by Hatori Sando – he illustrated several buildings and icons of New York City. The same collection features an innovative mascara, with a mechanism that allows you to curve the brush to optimize the application. Another successful line is Egg, with mousse soap, body oil, mousse pack and sheet masks. With formulas that moistures the skin and control oil, the products are among the brand’s best-sellers.
