3 places to see Manhattan’s skyline

There’s one thing I always say and I repeat to everyone: if you want to see Manhattan, you need to leave Manhattan. Just being off the island – whether in a boat or in another neighborhood – you will be able to appreciate the beauty of the skyline with its buildings that are the postcards of the city. It’s been a while since I wrote a post suggesting 5 places for you to do this – you can click here to check – and today I bring more three suggestions of places for you to enjoy the view of Manhattan and fall in love with this city.

I’ve had the opportunity to enjoy the view of Manhattan in several places in the city – but it is good to remember that the state of New Jersey, also offers great spots to see the city. Liberty State Park is certainly one of them. Located in Jersey City, this park has a huge green area, with space for sports activities, as well as picnic and barbecue. Its privileged location on the Hudson River margins overlooks the river and the island of Manhattan. Certainly, a perfect place to make beautiful pictures. In addition, from the park you can still see Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty (back).

How to get there? Using Liberty Landing Ferry, which makes the trip from Manhattan to the park by the river in 12 minutes. Liberty Landing Ferry leaves the World Financial Center Terminal (199 Vessey Street) in Downtown, next to the Brookfield Place, very close to the One World Trade Center.

It has been a week since I have been in Greenpoint, Brooklyn  which is just over Williamsburg. And it is in Transmitter Park, on the banks of the East River, you have a sensational view of Manhattan. The park has a tiny area – but the highlight is the platform in the river, where you can see the Empire State Building, One World Trade Center and Chrysler Building, as well as all other buildings that make up the city skyline, the Queensboro Bridge and the Williamsburg Bridge. Spend some time there, just enjoying this beautiful city!

Address: Greenpoint Ave & West St Brooklyn. Use lines L and G.

Last but not least, the view from Red Hook, also in Brooklyn. Located southwest of Carroll Gardens neighborhood, it is a somewhat isolated region, due to the lack of nearby subway stations. From Red Hook Dock, the skyline of Manhattan mingles with the ancient architecture of the neighborhood, with sheds with abandoned air, resulting in a beautiful and different setting. Plus, you also get to see the Statue of Liberty. The area is very calm and quiet and very reminiscent of a country town. Also, remember that the easiest access to Red Hook is Water Taxi – bonus, it will also present you with a beautiful view! Click here to see more photos of the tour.

How to get there? Water Taxi. Ferry departs from Pier 11 and the ticket is $5. Best news? The Water Taxi is free on weekends. Check out more details
