Tiny’s & The Bar Upstairs: a very cute restaurant in Tribeca

I confess: I am the kind of person that can’t resist a cute restaurant. Food matters – a lot – but who doesn’t like being in a beautiful environment? A few days ago, I did a photoshoot with Adriana Carolina – Brazilian photographer who lives in Buenos Aires – and since the idea was not to go to obvious places, I tried to choose a restaurant that I didn’t know to have lunch. But it had to be a charming restaurant. Then, I found out about Tiny’s & The Upstairs Bar and it’s already on my list of the cutest restaurants in the city.

Tiny’s and the Bar Upstairs is a three-story townhouse located on W. Broadway in the heart of Tribeca. The building dates to 1810 and much of the original materials have been restored and overlayed with whimsical American finish detail. In addition, space is decorated with pieces dating back as far as 100 years.  The rooms are finished with brick, two-tone antique wallpaper, original tin ceilings, salvaged wood paneling, custom banquettes, and hand-made tile. The building stands out in the area because of the walls, with rose shade painting –  Pinterest feelings. The place is not very big but it is very cozy.

Siblings Matt, Jack, and Ana Abramcyk conceived of a space where you can come to eat, drink, or just talk over a glass of wine. The menu reflects Modern American cuisine with Southern and French influences.

The day we were there, it was quite hot, so, as is a “tradition” here in New York, there were tables outside. We got a table inside. To refresh – and celebrate – we ordered drinks. They cost $15 each and I highly recommend the Moet Mauve, with vodka, lemon, and lavender. Need to talk more? Lunch options include burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, omelets, and pancakes. I ordered the Hanger Steak Salad ($ 19) and Adri ordered the Cheeseburger. Both were delicious. The meat of my salad was delicious, juicy, and super tender. Adri also loved the burger. We were super satisfied – the food was tasty.

To finish our lunch, of course, we went up to the second floor, the most charming area of the restaurant. I could not help but take a picture at the window, of course! Did you see how beautiful it is?

Please note that Tiny’s is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch. That is, any time of day! And you can check out the full menus on the website.

Address: 135 West Broadway.
