New York stores to buy wedding dresses

New York is a shopping destination. Besides the thousands of things to do around here, everyone ends buying something. Electronics, cosmetics, and clothing are best-sellers and there are also niche specifics such as wedding dress. After all, New York is one of the fashion capitals and there are many stores here, with options for all styles and budgets. The city is also the home for Bridal Fashion Week. Remember that you need to keep two things in mind when planning to buy a wedding dress. The first one is your budget. It seems basic, but this prevents you from visiting stores that will not have dresses that you can afford. You can’t shop at Kleinfeld if your budget is $ 800. The second thing you need to know is whether you’re willing to order a dress – and come back a few months later to pick it up – or you want a sample. This will also define which stores you should visit or exclude from your itinerary as many stores do not work with samples.

Kleinfeld Bridal – Is the store that became famous because of the reality show “Say yes to the dress”. There are dresses from more than 50 brands/designers, such as Bliss Monique Lhuillier, Lanvin Paris, and Zuhair Murad. You have to make an appointment –  click here to schedule it. On the website, you can do a search and get an idea of the styles, filtering by silhouette, brand, and price range. It’s hard to find samples.

Prices start at $2000.

Address: 110 West 20th Street.

Kleinfeld Sample Studio – Did you and your fiance say a big ‘NO way’ to a long engagement and you’re shopping for a wedding dress in a time crunch? (think 6 months before the wedding day) Are you shopping for a designer wedding dress for less? Or are you looking for a laid-back, casual shopping experience where you can pop-in for 5 minutes without the pressure of wedding dress shopping? Kleinfeld created a solution for all 3: Kleinfeld Sample Studio. Across the street from the salon is a new intimate space where brides are able to shop at their own pace – and no appointments. The Sample Studio has over 200 discounted wedding dresses & accessories that are generally only available during a Sample Sale. For a limited time, brides are able to shop these sample & off-the-rack dresses & accessories and take them home.

Prices start at $1000.

Address: 123 West 20th Street, 2nd Floor

Pronovias – from  Barcelona, they sell their own brand dresses.  It offers a multitude of dresses, super classic, where lace is the main protagonist. The collections are divided into two: Atelier Pronovias and Pronovias – the first account with more luxurious dresses, handmade, in a concept of haute couture. You have to make an appointment – click here to schedule it. On the website, you can check out the styles from the current collections. It’s hard to find samples.

Prices start at $2000.

Address: 14 E 52nd St.

RK Bridal – it has a huge selection of brands, including Allure, which is well-known in the bridal world. The most interesting thing about this store is that you don’t have to make an appointment and, depending on the style you are looking for, there is a great chance you can find it and leave with your sample.  The store also works with order-to-made dresses. It is not as glamorous as Kleinfield or Pronovias, but the collection is very good and the staff is very lively and friendly.

Prices start at $700

Address: 619 West 54th Street, 5th Floor.

David’s Bridal – Is well known in the US and also in other countries. It’s very popular. In addition to its own brand, it also features dresses from brands such as White By Vera Wang, Zac Posen, Galina, Jewel, and Nicole Miller. Besides traditional dresses, you can find simple and also shorter dresses, great for those who do not want a traditional wedding or want a great outfit for another wedding celebrations, for example. David’s Bridal has plenty of samples as well. You need to make an appointment  – click here to make yours.

Prices start at $100.

Address: 751 6th Ave.

Anthropologie – Anthropologie is a wonderful store of clothing, accessories, and decor items. It is incredible. And they have their own brand of wedding dresses, BHLDN, which has two locations in New York. It is definitely the perfect choice for anyone looking for a not obvious dress, getting away from the classic model. The outfits have vintage inspiration. You should also check the bridesmaids’ dresses, the party dresses and the accessories, one more beautiful than the other! You need to make an appointment.

Prices start at $250.

Address: 1230 3rd Ave / 209 West 38th Street, 7th Floor.

I also would like to introduce you Floravere, a bridal box! First, you select as many styles as you wish and tell when you want to try-on your sample gowns. Then, you will receive a box with the samples and the idea is to throw a party and call your friends to help you and celebrate this special moment. After this, you mail samples back, and shipping is free both ways! Then, you customize & order: select your final gown in your size, customize as you wish, and it’s made-to-order in 10-15 weeks. Price starts at $2500 (and you pay $25 per sample).

Did you like this post? It is good to remember that these are just a few options. I recommend Noivas em New York, they are personal shopper sand help you to find the dress. They know which stores will fit best with your style and budget, they make the appointments and also go with you to the stores. Highly recommend!
