Beers, brunch & tacos: 3 nice places in New York

You may have noticed that I talk a lot about food here on the blog, right? And I always say that it is nice to know local restaurants and everything else, because food is culture! However, I don’t talk a lot about my experiences at restaurants here – and I go out every weekend to eat! I don’t like to make short posts about one place – I’m not critical food, so my writings do not yield much. But I will test a new type of post, bringing together more than one place. Last weekend, we had guests and when that happens, we always end up going in more places. And today’s highlights are: a pub in Soho, one taqueria with multiple addresses, and an Italian restaurant for brunch on the Lower East Side.

Tre Restaurant –  is an Italian restaurant on the Lower East Side and the highlight here is the brunch on weekends. At a fixed price of $25, you choose an entree and drink mimosas at will (for 1 ½ hours). For those unaware, Mimosa is a drink that mixes champagne and orange juice and is very traditional in brunch. This promotion rolls on Saturdays and Sundays, 12 to 4pm. What I liked is that the brunch includes not only traditional dishes options such as omelettes, eggs and pancakes, but also other dishes like pastas and burger. It is noteworthy that there are drinks for $ 6 and appetizers for $5 during Happy Hour, which rolls from Sunday to Thursday from 5pm to 8pm and Friday and Saturday from 5pm to 7pm. The dinner menu is also neat, with a wide choice of pastas from $14 to $18. The restaurant is closed for lunch during weekdays. It is good to reserve and place only accepts cash. More info on the site.

Address: 173 Ludlow Street.

Tacombi – the company, which was born on the beaches of Yucatan and has addresses in Playa del Carmen, arrived in New York in 2008 and today has three addresses in the city. His trademark, as the name suggests, is taco, which is very traditional in Mexico, and the presence of a van (kombi) in the environment. Tacos are very tasty and have different flavors, not to mention the guacamole is delicious. The menu also offers other options such as ceviche and quesadillas. There are drinks and beers too. It is noteworthy that the Tacombi is an ideal place for that Happy Hour time in a drink and an appetizer are very amenable. The atmosphere is very informal, but a grace, not to mention that the prices are very reasonable.

Addresses: 267 Elizabeth Street / 30 West 24th Street / 255 Bleecker Street.

Puck Fair – Soho is a right destination for shopping and Puck Fair can be a good place for husbands / boyfriends who do not have the patience to go into shops, hehehe. Jokes aside, this pub has about 15 types of beer “on tap”. Certainly, a great place for drink lovers. The atmosphere is very informal, a typical pub without waiters stay on top of you pushing to consume. And you can also eat: there are burgers, sandwiches, salads and some Mexican dishes such as nachos. All very same yummy!

Address:  298 Lafayette St. THIS PUB IS CLOSED.
