New York City Music Festivals – 2018

When it comes to music festival, it seems like a lot of people do not even consider New York as a destination to take advantage of this kind of event, right? However, the Big Apple also has a great schedule in this regard. When the spring / summer season arrives, many festivals happen here! Below, you check out the main festivals that will take place in 2018 in the city.

Governors Ball – if you’ve ever heard of any music festival in the city, is probably Governors Ball. It is, perhaps, the most traditional of the city. It happens every year in early summer on Randalls Island – an island north of Manhattan between Astoria and Harlem. The festival lasts three days, and this year it will bee between June 1st and June 3rd, from 11 am to 11 pm. Launched in 2011, the festival features a variety of genres and musical styles including rock, electronic, hip-hop, indie, American, pop, folk and more. Each day of the festival features more than 20 performances and this year’s lineup includes Jack White, Eminem, Travis Scott and others. Tickets start at $115. Northside Festival – it is more alternative. The concerts take place in various locations in Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Bushwick, Brooklyn. In addition to the concerts, the festival features movie screenings and lectures. There are more than 300 bands and 150 speakers at 30 venues, such as clubs, outdoor venues, boutique hotels, local movie theaters, and more. This year’s line-up has yet to be announced – but the event takes place June 6-10. Follow the news on the website.

Pinknic – in its third edition, Pinknic happens on June 30 and July 1st at Governors Island. It is a large-scale picnic and music festival of the city dedicated exclusively to rosé wine. Over the course of two days, the public is invited to eat, drink and enjoy entertainment. The event is an opportunity to taste selections from Château d’Esclans, Moët & Chandon and Chandon, as well as DJs and performances. The public is invited to attend wearing pink and white. Four thousand pink picnic towels are delivered and you can bring your own food. More information about the event and tickets on the website. Panorama – this festival is organized by GoldenVoice, responsible for Coachella in California. The event runs for three days at the end of July between the 27th and 29th. And Randall’s Island is also the venue for the event – and there are more than 50 music performers. Tickets are already being sold. Eletric Zoo – this festival happens over the Labor Day weekend and is one of New York’s biggest music festivals and features the leading names in electronic music, bringing a wide variety of artists from all over the world and several sub-Genres. The event is already in the tenth edition and happens between August 31 and September 2nd on Randalls Island. More information here.
