My Favoritesshopping

3 outlets to check out in New York City

When we talk about outlets in New York, many people think about two places: Jersey Gardens and Woodbury. They are the favorite destinations of many people who want to save money. I have my opinions about it – is something very personal, of course, but in New York there are many discount stores, which offer many products at very attractive prices. I have written about these stores here on this post and on this post. And in today’s post, I decided to gather information about three outlets of large and famous department stores. With so many options, you may not even need to leave New York for shopping.

Bloomingdale’s, The Outlet Store – one of the most famous department stores in New York is also investing in off price stores and, last year, Bloomingdale’s opened its 14th outlet store, the first one in New York. There are three floors in an area of approximately 24000 sq feet. The selection includes men’s and women’s fashion, accessories, shoes and handbags – all from famous and with special discounts, ranging from 25 to 75% off. There are names like Burberry, Theory, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Calvin Klein, Diane Von Furstenberg, Alice + Olivia, Kate Spade, Michael Kors and Ugg. Women’s department takes two floors of the store and offers both contemporary pieces as luxury items, and party dresses. The sunglasses are from brands like Kate Spade, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Coach. In the menswear department, there is a whole floor with casual clothes, winter coats, and suits, ties and dress shirts of famous brands.

Saks Off Fifth – if you frequently visit outlets in the United States, you probably saw a Saks Off Fifth store. It is Saks Fifth Avenue discount store. This year, the chain and opened a location in the center of Manhattan and became a new shopping destination for those seeking different brands – and the store earn points because of the location. In addition, it noted that the Saks Off Fifth has an exclusive space of Gilt City. There are two floors. In the first floor, there is a neat selection of accessories: bags, scarves, sunglasses and watches, and a huge section of women’s and men’s shoes. All shoes are separated by sizes and there are styles for summer and winter – boots, sandals, flats, and sneakers. You can also shop some perfumes – brands like Dolce & Gabbana, Thierry Mugler, Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Jimmy Choo and Chloe. In the men’s department, there is a bit of everything: shirts, polo, sportswear, ties, suits and coats. In the women’s section, there is selection of long and short party dresses, and skirts, dresses and blouses brands like Diane Von Furstenberg, Alice + Olivia, Elizabeth and James and many items from Free People.

Macy’s Backstage – And Macy’s also joined the off price stores team and opened a Macy’s Backstage location last year here New York. The store is super wide and it is organized – who has visited shops in this style off price know that organization is not always the keyword. There are clothes, lingerie, perfumes and cosmetics, bed and bath, decorative items, shoes, handbags, accessories … Clothing department offers coats, sportswear, some party items, as well as clothes for babies and kids. Men’s department is pretty neat, with many shirts, jackets, basic T-shirts and underwear, all from brands like Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Levi’s and Tommy Hilfiger. Prices are attractive. One of the highlights of this store is the section of items for home, with many kitchen appliances by affordable prices. Macy’s has two stores in this style here in New York – one in Brooklyn and one in Queens. The easiest access is in Queens, Queens Place, a mall that also has stores like Target and DSW Shoes, easy subway access, about 20 minutes from Manhattan.
